PAUL LAWRIE TIES FOR NE ALLIANCE VICTORY AT BALLATER

Paul Lawrie, just outside the top 10 in the Portugal Masters at the weekend, made an unexpected but welcome appearance at todays North-east Golfers Alliance competition at Ballater - and tied for victory on six-under-par 64 with Aboyne scratch player Paul Simpson.
The pair of Pauls finished a shot ahead of Fraserburgh scratch man Gordon Munro.
Paul Lawrie's older son Craig finished well up the scratch list with a round of 71.
