LEADING QUALIFIERS SHINE IN SUN AS ABERDEEN LINKS RESUMES

It was a very different picture from the previous evening at the Aberdeen Links Championships last night as glorious sunshine replaced the downpours of Thursday.
Northern's leading qualifiers in Gary Nicholson in the Handicap Shield and Norman Rose in the Murray Cup marched into the quarter finals.
Clubmate Don Galloway ran Gary, close eventually winning at the first extra hole whilst Jim Muir was no match for Rose who eased to a 6&5 victory. There were big wins also in the Murray Cup for Caley's Keith "Beefy" Robertson and Bon-Accords Ian Stewart.
