Four professionals - Robert Arnott (Bishopbriggs), Graham Fox (East Kilbride), Paul McKechnie (Braid Hills) and Chris Kelly (Clober) - won £836 apiece as joint winners of the West Dunbartonshire Council pro-am at Dalmuir municipal golf course today.
Playing in very windy conditions with the occasional torrential rain, they all hit the one-under-par 67 mark, finishing one shot ahead of Campbell Elliott (Haggs Castle), who collected £422, and two clear of Jonathan Lomas (unattached), who received £352 for fourth place.
The team event was won by the West Dunbartonshire councillors, with Falkirk Tryst's Craig Matheson their pro. A 15-under-par net round of 53 landed the spoils for Willie McLaughlin (18 handicap), Ian Robertson (18) and Michael Stewart (12).
It was the 25th year of the West Dunbartonshire Council pro-am and had total prize money of £6,366. Well done, lads!
