MARK HILLSON ENTERS PGA TRAINING AT TANDRIDGE, SURREY

Craigielaw's Mark Hillson, the leading Lothians amateur in recent seasons until Allyn Dick came on to the scene, has joined the professional ranks.

The 27-year-old, who reached the quarter-finals in the 2009 British Amateur Championship at Formby, has entered the PGA training programme after taking up a post at Tandridge in Surrey.
Hillson, pictured right, who won the Lothians Championship at Bruntsfield Links in 2007, admitted he had found it increasingly difficult to fund his amateur career.
