BUSMAN'S HOLIDAY FOR PAUL LAWRIE AT THREE NORTH LINKS

By ROBIN WILSONThe 1999 Open champion and recent winner of a European Tour event in Andalucia, Spain, Paul Lawrie, enjoyed a late three-day Easter break in the North this week.
On Monday with friends in preparation for the forthcoming Scottish Open heplayed Castle Stuart for the first time.
“A fantastic course!” exclaiming similar remarks after he played Brora on Tuesday when he was joined by his Junior Golf Foundation Manager Iain Powell, whose parents have a house close to Brora's 12th tee.
He was also accompanied on his Brora visit by two sponsors from Hunting Energy Services, Aberdeen who, after the Brora club had donated a round of golf for four persons to be auctioned at Paul's Foundation fund-raising dinner, the sponsors made the successful bid and had Lawrie joining them for their Brora game.
On Monday and Tuesday nights they stayed in the Brora Links Apartments which overlook the final green before moving to play Royal Dornoch today. Nine years before his Carnoustie triumph Lawrie won the Denis Lovell Assistants championship at Royal Dornoch in 1990.
