JOHNSON WAGNER WINS PLAY-OFF DOWN MEXICO WAY

Johnson Wagner won the US PGA Tour's Mayakoba Golf Classic tournament for those not in the world's top-rankied 64 players by beating fellow-American Spencer Levin in a play-off in a play-off over Spencer Levin at Playa del Carmen, Mexico, on Sunday.
Levin fired a six-under-par 65 to join Wagner at the top of the leaderboard, with the latter carding a 67 as the pair finished three clear of field on 17 under.
Wagner shot a par on the first play-off hole, the par-four 18th, but Levin dropped a shot to hand the 30-year-old his first US Tour victory since his Houston Open triumph in 2008.
Wagner hit just two bogeys in his 72 holes - both on the par-four fifth - in a remarkably consistent week for the American.
Finishing in outright third was senior John Cook on 14 under, one shot ahead of round two leader Chris Stroud.
A group of six players rounded out the top ten - South African Rory Sabbatini, Australian Jarrod Lyle and Americans David Toms, Brian Gay, Briny Baird and Bobby Gates.
Defending champion Cameron Beckman finished on 10 under in 12th position.
