Perth and Kinross boys win Frank Thompson

Trophy by four shots at a wet Gleneagles

Scottish Under-14 boys champion (and runner-up in the Under-16s), Bradley Neil (Blairgowrie) captained the Perth and Kinross team to victory in the Frank Thompson Trophy competition on a very wet Sunday over the PGA Centenary Course - the one over which the 2014 Ryder Cup will be played - at Gleneagles Hotel.
The annual three-cornered event is contested by boys who were under 15 years on January 1. Each team is made up of five boys but only the best four scores count.
The format is Stableford points played off scratch.
P and K totalled 123 with Rory Stewart (Crieff) their top scorer with 35, two ahead of Bradley Neil. Fergus Sandison (Blairgowrie) contributed 29pt and one of the 26s returned by both Russell Malcolm (Milnathort) and Josh Roy (Auchterarder) was a non-counter.
Fife were second on 119. Ben Kingsley (St Andrews) and Greg Forester (Balbirnie) top scored for them with 33pt apiece.
Clackman were third with 88, 27 of which came from Rikki Alexander (Braehead).
