Kirkhill boys are the KO Kids in Lanarkshire match-play
Three boys from Kirkhill reached the semi-finals of the Lanarkshire boys' match-play championship today at Cambuslang to further enhance Kirkhill's reputation for producing excellent young golfers.
Craig Ross won his two matches to give himself some practice for tomorrow's meeting with No 1 seed James Byrne in the Scottish Amateur at Gullane.
James Steven from Kirkhill also continued his good form from the Scottish Junior Tour and the English Under 16s stroke-play championship to win his two matches.
Scott Costello, who recently won a men's 36-hole event (the Baxter Trophy) at Strathaven, also progressed to the semi-finals. The fouth semi-finalist is Ross Gillan from Torrance House. He finished runner-up in the Lanarkshire boys' stroke-play at Hamilton earlier in the season and will be hoping to go one better in the match-play stage.
The semi-finals and final will be played at Cambuslang in two weeks, pending confirmation.
