Lothians' record ninth win in SGU boys' area team championship

Lothians have won the Scottish boys’ area team golf championship – sponsored by Dunfermline Building Society – for a record ninth time at Peebles Golf Club today
The Lothians quartet of Scottish boys' champion Grant Forrest, Anthony Blaney, Graeme Duncan and Fraser Thain totalled 356 in the foursomes-singles format.
They finished four shots ahead of Lanarkshire (Eamon Bradley, Craig Ross, Martin Scott, James Steven) and South (Scott Gibson, Liam Johnston, Greg Marchbank, Danny McConnachie). Lanarkshire were officially placed second by virtue of having the best fourth individual score.
Marc Smith (Ayrshire) was the winner of the Niagara Cup for the best individual afternoon round of 67.
North were disqualified for playing out of sequence in the morning foursomes.
