France leading England at Chantilly

France were leading England 7 1/2 to 4 1/2 at the end of the first day of the two-day men's amateur internatinal match at Chantilly Golf Club.
England edged the first-day foursomes 3-2 but could salvage only one win and one square match from the seven afternoon singles.
