Honours even in Loretto v Gullane Juniors rematch

After the wash-out earlier in the year, Gullane Juniors and Loretto Golf Academy played the second half of their bi-annual fixture on Sunday. The weather at Craigielaw resembled an early summer's day which proved excellent for scoring.
The Loretto pairs played in two-ball foursomes format against a pretty strong team from Gullane.
Each Loretto pairing was conceding shots to their opponents apart from Game 6 and it proved to be a tight contest.
George Munsey and Julie Yang got the ball rolling for Loretto with a commanding 4 & 3 victory over Alexander Wilson and Gullane captain Greg Houlston. The pair were in control of their match from the start and closed out a deserved victory on the 15th green.
Every other game was, quite incredibly, decided by the margin of 2 & 1!
After the initial Loretto victory, Gullane then levelled with a good win in the top tie, with Under 16 cap Anthony Blaney and in-form Alasdair Simpson playing some fine golf to record a good victory over Loretto's top pairing whose combined handicap is + 2.
Lewis Gregory and Sami Bouzabia combined with some fantastic figures for a 2 & 1 victory in match 3 over Jamie Black and Michael Williams.
The two following ties went against Loretto with good victories for Gullane pairings Graham Swan and Gary Brownlee, and Olly Ladbrooke and Finn Donaldson before the Loretto all-girl partnership of third form students Laura Alexander and Migle Rusteikaite combined to defeat Lara Frostwick and Cameron Good to ensure the match was drawn overall - a fair result
Well done to the Gullane team against very high quality international opposition!
