England send Hemstock, Robinson to Venezuela

NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY ENGLISH GOLF UNION
England squad members Billy Hemstock (Teignmouth, Devon) and James Robinson (Southport & Ainsdale, Lancashire) have been selected to represent the English Golf Union in the biennial Simon Bolivar Cup at Barquisimeto Golf Club, Venezuela from November 4 to 7.
Hemstock, 25, the current Devon champion, has enjoyed a successful season but has yet to represent his country at international level.
In 2009 he has finished joint second in the Chiberta Grand Prix in France, and third in both the Finnish and European amateur championships. Domestically, Billy finished tied third in the Tillman Trophy, equal seventh in the Berkshire Trophy, reached the last 16 of the English and Spanish amateur championships and finished 12th on the Titleist/Footjoy EGU Order of Merit.
Robinson, 21, made his full international debut in the winning England side in the Home Internationals at Hillside in August. Like Hemstock, he has been successful in 2009, winning the Lytham Trophy, tied third in the Hampshire Hog and he also reached the last 16 of the Spanish Amateur.
The Simon Bolivar Cup is decided over 72 holes of stroke play with the aggregate score of the two players to count.
