Duncan switches from Murcar Links to

Deeside to win NE District youths title


Kevin Duncan (McDonald Ellon) and Inverallochy’s Sam Strachan finished first and second in the North-east District youths’ championship at Deeside yesterday (Sunday) after missing the cut at Murcar Links in the Scottish men’s open amateur stroke-play championship on Saturday.
Scratch player Duncan had rounds of 73 and 72 for a three-over-par total of 145. He won the title by a shot from Strachan who scored 75 and 71.
Lowest round of the Deeside tournament was a two-under-par 69 in the second round by Callum Trahan (Murcar Links who finished third on 149.
