SIX SCOTS HEAD FOR SEA ISLAND,

GEORGIA AND JONES CUP

The Scottish Golf Union is sending six players to take part in the biennial Jones Cup Invitational tournament at Ocean Forest Golf Club, Sea Island, Georgia from February 6 to 8.
They are:
Wallace Booth (Comrie)
Glenn Campbell (Blairgowrie)
Gavin Dear (Murrayshall)
Keir McNicoll (Carnoustie)
Paul O'Hara (Colville Park)
Steven McEwan (Caprington).
Booth, Dear and Callum Macaulay, now a professional, won the Eisenhower Trophy world men's amateur team championship for Scotland at Adelaide, Australia last autumn.
Dear has since become the first Scot to win the Dixie Amateur over the Festive period in Florida.
A select field of 84 players, most of the top amateurs from the United States and the home countries, will compete over 54 holes of stroke-play.
The Jones Cup was inaugurated in 2001 as a prelude to the Walker Cup match at Sea Island.
