PETERHEAD TO STAGE NORTH-EAST

DISTRICT OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

Peterhead's normally windswept links have been confirmed as the venue for the main event on the North-east District of the Scottish Golf Union's 2009 calendar of events - the North-east District Open championship.
The four-round stroke-play event will be held on the weekend of August 15 and 16.
North-east have been drawn in the same group as Borders, Ayrshire and Stirlingshire in the Scottish area team championship.

May 17 - North-east v Borders (Newburgh tbc).
May 31 - North-east youths championship (Deeside).
June 7 - Scottish boys' area team championship (Ballumbie Castle, Dundee).
June 7 - Journal Cup (Ballater).
June 8-9 - Jaffrey Cup semi-finals and final (Ballater).
July 12 - IDL youths tournament (Hopeman).
July 13 - North U-16 & U-18 boys v North-east U-16 & U-18 boys (Garmouth & Kingston).
July 15 - North U-14 boys v North-east U-14 boys (Garmouth & Kingston).
July 16 - North-east boys' championship (Fraserburgh).
July 17 - North-east U-14 boys' championship (Fraserburgh).
July 17 - North-east boys' match-play championship semi-finals and final (Fraserburgh).
July 24 North-east seniors championship (Huntly).
July 27 - North-east U-16 & U-18 boys v Angus U-16 & U-16 boys (Banchory tbc).
August 2 - Ayrshire v North-east (Largs Kelburn).
August 3 - North-east U-14 boys v Angus U-14 boys (Stonehaven).
August 15-16 - North-east District Open (Peterhead).
August 30 - Simmers Trophy (Cruden Bay).
September 6 - Champion of champions finals (Kintore).
September 13 - UBC boys & girls' championships (McDonald Ellon).
September 20 - Stirlingshire v North-east (Murcar Links tbc).
October 3-4 - Scottish area team championship semi-finals & final (Crail, Fife).
