Dixie winner Gavin Dear jumps 16
places to No 43 in world rankings

Victory in the Dixie amateur championship in Florida has elevated Perth international player Gavin Dear 16 places into the top 50 of the R&A world amateur golf rankings
The Murrayshall member, ranked 59th before he became the first Scot to win the Dixie amateur championship, is now No 43 behind New Zealander Danny Lee, Spaniard Jorge Campillo and American Rickie Fowler.
Dear has replaced his Eisenhower Trophy-winning team-mate Wallace Booth (Comrie) as the top Scot in the rankings. Booth has dropped from No 56 to 57.
Other Scots in the top 250 are:
Steven McEwan (Caprington) from No 112 to 113.
James Byrne (Banchory) from No 205 to 2002.
Michael Stewart (Troon Welbeck) from No 214 to 211.
Keir McNicoll (Carnoustie) from No 189 to 233.
