Borrowman declared winner of South-east District Open
after final round abandoned
The fourth and final round of the South-east District Open championship at Duddingston Golf Club, Edinburgh was abandoned due to rain and the positions at the end of the third round were declared the final totals.
That meant that former Scottish youths champion Scott Borrowman, pictured right, won his first Scottish Golf Union Order of Merit event, over 54 holes.
The Dollar man and Stirling University student, a reserve for the men's home internationals at Muirfield this coming week, had scores of 70, 67 and 72 for a seven-under-par total of 209.
He finished one shot ahead of former Scottish champion John Gallagher (Swanston New) who scored three rounds of 70 for 210.
Paul Lawrie's protege Philip McLean from Peterhead came third on 211.
