Chris Doak, the man in red-hot form, leads the Northern Open with a four-under-par 68 over the Dave-Thomas masterpiece, Spey Valley golf course, at Aviemore.
Doak has only a narrow lead - by one shot from Dean Robertson and Ewan Davie (Dunblane New) - but he knows what it takes to win this flagship 72-holer of the Tartan Tour.
