STEWART HAS THAT CINKING FEELING
- SEAN O'HAIR WINS BY TWO STROKES
Sean O'Hair took advantage of a collapse by Stewart Cink, who led by two shots at the start of the final round and by one with nine holes to play. to return to the winner's circle om the US PGA Tour on Sunday.
Cink, who finished with a four-over-par 74, birdied the first and second but bogeyed the third, eighth, 13th and 14th before he stumbled badly to a double bogey 6 at the 16th. He got a birdie at the 17th which earned him joint second place and $294,591.
O'Hair carded a two-under-par 69 to win the PODS Championship at the Innisbrook Hilton Resort, Palm Harbour in Florida by two strokes.
It was the second victory of his career for O'Hair, whose only other win came at the John Deere Classic in July 2005.
He finished at four-under 280 and pocketed the first prize of US$954,000.
Cink, who was overpowered by Tiger Woods in the final of WGC Accenture Match Play Championship last month, finished in a six-way tie for second place at two-under 282.
John Senden (67), Ryuji Imada (68), George O'Neill (69), Troy Matteson (69) and Billy Mayfair (72) joined Cink in the cluster for second place.
Justin Rose, with a final round of 70, finished joint 14th but Paul Casey's final two rounds of 75 dropped him out of the top bracket. Rose earned $79,617 but Casey "only" $18,550.
