SCOT LOSE FINAL MATCH BUT WIN
QUADRANGULAR TITLE ON COUNTBACK

Scotland lost their final match 5 1/2-3 1/2 to Sweden but won the boys' international quadrangular tournament on a countback at Saint Cyprien Golf Club in southern France today.
Scotland, Sweden and France each finished with two wins and one defeat over the three days.
Scotland and Sweden had identical individual games won-halved-lost records of 15 1/2-11 1/2 but the next tie-breaker gave the Scots victory by half a point from Sweden.
Paul Shields (Kirkhill) was Scotland's most successful competitor with 4 1/2pt out of six. David Law (Hazlehead) came next with 4pt followed by Michael Stewart (Troon Welbeck) and Andrew McLachlan (Bonnyton) 3 1/2pt each, Mark Bookless (Sandyhills) and Sam McLaren (King James VI) 3pt each.
The player of the tournament was Sweden's Alexander Bjork who had four wins and two halved games for 5pt.
