STEWART CINK CAN'T HOLD THAT TIGER
IN FINAL OF WORLD MATCH-PLAY

Tiger Woods was in total control halfway through the 36-hole final of the Accenture Match Play Championship at Dove Mountain near Tucson in the Arizona desert earlier today.
Top seed Woods quickly established an early lead over fellow American Stewart Cink and built a four-hole lead after 18 holes on a pleasant morning at Dove Mountain.
As the players headed into a short lunch break, Cink perhaps had time to contemplate the magnitude of the task that faced him in his quest to make a comeback during the final 18 holes.
Woods wasted little time asserting his authority, halving the par-5 first hole with a par, before winning the second with a birdie, rolling in a 20-foot putt.
Two more quick birdies, followed by a Cink bogey at the par-3 eighth, left Woods four up at the turn.
As if that was not bad enough for Cink, he fell further behind with a bogey at the par-4 11th, before finally winning his first hole of the day with a birdie at the par-4 12th.
Cink also won the par-3 16th, sinking a 25-footer, and just for a minute it seemed that with momentum on his side, it perhaps would turn into a competitive match.
Woods, however, was having none of it. He came up just short of the green with his second shot at the par-5 17th, and chipped stiff to win the hole and re-establish his 4-up lead.
And though Woods opened the door at the par-4 18th, Cink was unable to take advantage, leaving little doubt that it would take a minor miracle to make it competitive in the afternoon.
Woods is seeking his fifth victory in a row, and his seventh win in his past eight starts worldwide, heading back to last August.
The only event he has not won during this period was a runner-up finish in Boston in September.
