NORTH DISTRICT BOYS CHAMPIONSHIP

FRASER FOTHERINGHAM WINS AT
BOAT OF GARTEN
 
Nairn' Golf Club's Fraser Fotheringham won the North District boys' championship for the RPB Bain Trophy for the first time at Boat of Garten on Sunday.
 
After equalling the par of 70 in the first round to take a three-shot lead over Ian Allan (Hopeman), the Nairn junior added a second-round 72 for a five-shot win from Chris Gaitens (Fortrose& Rosemarkie). Gaittens scored 74 and 73.
 
In the under-16 age group section the winner was Stuart Goodman (Castle Heather) with rounds of 79 and 74. Stuart won on a countback over the final nine holes from John Fair (Fortrose & Rosemarkie)who had the same scores.
