CHIBERTA GRAND PRIX
STEPHEN CLARK TURNS DOWN TRIP TO FRANCE
Stephen Clark (Haggas Castle), who played well for the University of Kansas City-Missouri during the second half of the 2005-2006 American college golf season, has turned down an invitation from the Scottish Golf Union to a member of a three-strong line-up to compete in the 72-hole Chiberta Grand Prix near Biarritz in southwest France from July 13 to 16.
Clark is competing in the Final Open Qualifying today and tomorrow.
The two other invitees will play in France. They are Grantown-on-Spey's Duncan Stewart, who had a very successful season for Jacksonville University, Florida, during the 2005-2006 season, and Callum Macaulay (Tulliallan), yet another Scot at a college in America (Mississippi) and recent winner of the West of Scotland Open.
