Toby Burden is English men's county champion of champions 2019
Hampshire, Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands champion Toby Burden has been crowned as the English Men’s County Champion of Champions for 2019.
Burden, from Hayling Golf Club, carded two rounds of 70 over the Red course at Frilford Heath to finish tied with Staffordshire champion, Jake McGoldrick, from Enville, on four under par 140 and then beat his rival on the first hole of a sudden-death play-off.

This year’s championship produced a tight finish with Warwickshire’s Joe MacIlwraith (Olton) carding rounds of 70 and 71 to finish in third place one shot behind on three-under par 141 and English international David Hague, from Malton and Norton in Yorkshire, posting rounds of 70 and 72 to finish fourth one shot further behind.
Lincolnshire’s Jack Diment (Belton Park), Essex’ Brandon Meads (Chelmsford), Gloucestershire’s Nick Day (Henbury) and Sussex’ George Goddard (West Hove) all tied for fifth place on 143.
