Two U16 girls will make their England debuts in the upcoming international match against Switzerland at Heswall Golf Club.
Lydia Cryer (Nelson Golf Club, Lancashire) and Louise Burke (Broadstone Golf Club, Dorset) will team up with Lottie Woad (Farnham Golf Club, Surrey) and Rachel Gourley (Arcot Hall Golf Club, Northumberland) to represent England in the annual international fixture on 19-20th August.
Cryer finished third at the Royal Birkdale Putter and had further top ten finishes at the Pleasington Putter and Royal Birkdale Ladies Scratch Trophy while Burke finished fifth in the Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters.
Woad has also had a series of high finishes; second at the West of England Amateur, 6th in the European Young Masters, Cornboy Scratch and Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters, meanwhile, Gourley represented England U16 against Spain recently and also recorded a top ten finish at the Cornboy Scratch.
The match precludes the North of England U16 Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship, also held at Heswall Golf Club, from 21-23rd August and will provide all the players with excellent exposure to representing England on an international stage.
Last year England defeated Switzerland 4-2 in the U16 girls’ international at the Pannal Golf Club in Yorkshire.
