Matthew Clark has big lead in the Race to Meldrum House

Following the North East District Open at Portlethen this past weekend, Matthew Clark (Meldrum House), with 126pts, has a commanding lead over second-placed Adam Dunton (McDonald Ellon) on 93 points with Barrie Edmond (Bon Accord) third on 91 pts.

Mark Halliday (Royal Aberdeen) occupies fourth place on 45pts while David Morrison (Meldrum House), John Godward (McDonald) Ellon) and Jordan Calder (Newmachar) are all tied fifth on the 44pts mark.  

 

The race is now well and truly on to finish in the top 24 to gain a place at Meldrum House on September 22 and, with only two qualifying events to go, there are a number of players vying for the 24th spot.  

 

The two remaining qualifying events are the Kemnay 18-hole Open,  re-scheduled for Saturday, August 31, and the Royal Aberdeen 18-hole Open on Sunday, September 15.
