Finn Krista Junkkari leads European women's championship (7 under par) at halfway

The European Ladies' Amateur Championship has reached the halfway stage at Parkstone Golf Club, England.
Round one leader, Amalie Leth-Nissen, kept herself in contention with a one-over-par 73 on day two on the southern coast of England. The Danish player, who is the youngest in the field, sits in a tie for third on five-under-par after 36 holes played.
Leth-Nissen is joined by Gile Bite Starkute of Lithuania, and Italy's Virginia Elena Carta, who carded rounds of 70 (-2) and 71 (-1) respectively to also reach five-under for the tournament.
Krista Junkkari is the current solo leader. The Finnish player made five birdies and just one bogey in round two add a 68 (-4) to her day one score of 69 (-3) and top the leaderboard at the halfway stage on seven-under-par.

Caterina Don, who recently shot an eight-under-par 64 in the stroke play qualifying of the European Girls' Team Championship, birdied the last three holes to card a four-under-par round of 68 and sits just one shot off the lead on six-under-par. Her compatriot, and recent Vagliano Trophy teammate, Alessia Nobilio is just three shots further back on three-under-par in a tie for 10th position.

Thursday's lowest score came from a French player. Gala Dumez erased five dropped shots from day one with a 67 (-5) in round two to return to level-par for the tournament and into a tie for 25th place.
A cut for the top-60 players and ties will be made after round three on Friday, with the cut line currently sitting at +4.
The full leaderboard, and tomorrow's tee times, can be accessed on the championship webpage.
