Double whammy by Joe Bryce at Longniddry

Overnight rain that continued this morning threatened no play at the visit to Longniddry today but the course stood up very well and 54 members of the Edinburgh an East of Scotland Alliance enjoyed a chance to complete for the Paterson Medal at the East Lothian venue par 68 (34-34) course.

Top scratch score and winner of the scratch two weeks in a row was Bathgate's Joe Bryce with a par 68 (35-33).

Second Scratch prize was split between two East Alliance regulars, Andy Marshall (Houston Golf Range) and RossNeill (unattached) on 71.

There was a scratch 70 from Craig Surgeon of Newbattle but with is two handicap that converted to top handicap prize on net 68 which also claimed the silverware

Second handicap was split between the trio of Willie Miller (Falkirk Tryst) (81 less 11), Jordan Whyte (Royal Aberdeen) (79 less 9) and George Wither (Liberton) (74 off 4), all on net 70.

Top Senior on net 71 (74 less 3) was vice-president Mike Louden (Glencorse).

Order of Merits see Ross Munro remain at the top of Scratch and George Wither edge ahead in the Handicap -

Next week it is a visit to Edinburgh to play Liberton and the following week a re-scheduled visit to Goswick Links before the end of season Championship at Gullane on  March 27
