CHRIS CURRAN WINS TOM GALLOWAY TROPHY AT LIBERTON

Despite Tuesday night's stormy conditions, play opened in morning sunshine in the City of Edinburgh where 62 East Alliance members visited Liberton Golf Club to try and get their name on the Tom Galloway Trophy.

 

The silverware ended up going to the better inward half to split the gross 67 of Chris Curran and the net 67 of Harburn's Robin Cockburn (73 less 6).

 

Chris was well ahead with a inward 31 compared with Robin's net 34 coming back (37 less 3) on the par 67 course (34-33).

I have just looked at your website and one change has been missed. If you can still update can you amend 4th para to reflect Chris Curran won top scratch rather than Ross Munro.

 

Top Scratch prize went to Chris Curran on 67. Second scratch went to Gullane's Marc Owenson on 69 with third Scratch being split on 70 by Stephen Lamb (Glencorse) and Andy Marshall (Houston Golf Range).

 

Robin Cockburn (Harburn) had the consolation of winning top handicap prize on net 67 (73 less 6).

Second Handicap prize went to stalwart Seniors on net 68 via Walter Forsyth (Peebles) (74 less 6 ) and John Masterton (Mortonhall ) (77 less 9).

 

Top Senior was Richard Dickinson (Dunbar) on net 71 (78 less 7)

Top Trainee was Michael Bacigalupo (The Glen) on 73

 

Order of Merits see Ross Munro remain top of Scratch and Willie Laing swop places with George Wither to head Handicap.
