MIDLAND ALLIANCE RESUMES AFTER BREAK

Keir McNicoll leads way with three-under 65 at Arbroath

 

This week the Midland Golfers’ Alliance got back to business after a midwinter break with the Scott Arbuthnott Team Competition at Arbroath Links.

 Playing on winter greens because of the hard frost, Keir McNicoll (assist pro at  Carnoustie Links) led the way with a great three under par score of 65.

In the Handicap section Drew Herd (Scotscraig, 14) won with a superb net 62, which included the shot of the day, a hole in one at the 200 yard 14^th hole using an 8 iron.

 Keir also helped his team of Gary Pyott (Arbroath, 5) and Gary Smith (Arbroath, 5) to the top prize with 55 on a better inward half.
