Higson and Steven O'Hara share Young Pros' victory at Turnberry

A double bogey 6 at the 15th after reaching the turn in 33 deprived Tom Higson (Gleneagles) of an outright win in the £1,340 Young Pros' Order of Merit Sprint Series competition over the King Robert the Bruce course at Trump Turnberry today.
Higson did have five birdies on his card of 72 and he finished first equal with Steven O'Hara (North Lanarkshire Leisure) who had much the steadier round, deviating from par only with birdies at the fifth and 17th and a bogey at the 15th in halves of 34-37.
Both Higson and O'Hara earned £200.
Greg Cessford (unattached) and Calum Nairn (Prestwick St Nicholas) shared third place on 74 and received £130 each.

Fenwick leads Hutcheon by one shot at halfway in Carnegie Invitational

Dunbar's Neil Fenwick leads by one stroke at the halfway stage of the Tartan Tour's 36-hole Carnegie Invitational at Skibo Castle, Sutherland.
He shot a two-under-par 69 which included a double bogey 6 at the 11th but he birdied the second, third, fifth, 17th and 18th in halves of 32 and 37.
Greig Hutcheon (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) is in second place on 70, three shots clear of the joint third-placed Paul O'Hara (North Lanarkshire Leisure) and Grantown-on-Spey's Gavin Hay (Mearns Castle).

England's narrow wins over Scotland in schools internationals at Lancaster G C

England beat Scotland in both the 43rd annual schoolboys' and schoolgirls' golf international matches at Lancaster Golf Club, Lancashire this week but it was a close-run thing with very little between the two sides..
England's victory margins were: 10-8 (boys) and 5-4 (girls) and the general feeling was that, with a little bit of luck, Scotland might have drawn both mathes.
Outstanding performer for the Scotland boys was Ben Caton (St Leonards School) who won both his foursomes, partnered by Scotland captain Conor O'Toole (Stewart's Melville College), and singles ties by big margins.
