Duncan and Munro tie for first place in NE Alliance over 17-hole Portlethen winter course

 Scottish Alliance champion Kevin Duncan, Cruden Bay's tour pro, and +3 Newmachar amateur Gordon Munro tied for first place in a field of 76 players at today's North-east Golfers Alliance competition which was played over a17-hole winter course at Portlethen Golf Club.

The fifth was not played because this short hole does not have space for a winter green to be established.
Duncan and Munro both shot 66, three under par for the shortened course. Duncan earned £115 in cash, Munro, pictured right, a prize voucher for a similar amount.
Temperature note: It was 0 degrees when play started but "warmed up" a little as the day progressed and the late finishers had to cope with rain.
