Team Love pulled off a record-setting win at the PNC Father-Son Challenge.

Teeing Off

It's all love

Davis and Dru Love blitzed the field at the PNC Father-Son Challenge with a record-setting 16-under 56 to claim their second title. The duo finished three shots clear of their nearest competitors at 26 under for the tournament, another record. It was only the second time since 2004 that a team has come back to claim the win. Team Daly set the pace in Round 1 with a 13-under 59 and some of the best pants in the game. There was plenty of love to go around for the other golf greats in Orlando. Jack Nicklaus turned back the clock with the putter sinking birdie after birdie including one on the final hole in true Golden Bear fashion

Drive down memory lane

Who better to talk driving than three of the best drivers in golf history? Tournament champ DL3, John Daly and Greg Norman were all renowned for their prowess off the tee, with Daly being the first to average 300 yards for a single season. The big question: Who are the top-three drivers of the golf ball? “I’m going Greg Norman for No. 1 distance and direction,” said Love III, with Norman’s caddie adding another vote for the Shark (shocker). As for modern-day distance, 2016 FedExCup champ Rory McIlroy was DL3’s pick, with Daly opting for reigning PGA TOUR Player of the Year Brooks Koepka. In his short stint on TOUR, Cameron Champ has burst onto the scene with the driver but Norman wants to pump the brakes. “No, he’s got a long way to go before he’s on that list. He’s a kid.”

NAUGHTY OR SLICe

Rusty is working on that knot of holiday lights and Ralphie is staring at the leg lamp. Yep, it’s that time of the year. When it comes to gift giving, the days of a golf ball paper weight with green felt are over. The US PGA TOUR’s annual gift guide brings it this year, with items for the die-hard golfer and the novice. Have you been good this year? Like, really good?
How about a $73,000 golf cart or a $35,000 full-swing indoor golf simulator? If you haven’t been perfect or won the FedExCup, there are plenty of other options.
There’s a Travis Mathew holiday blazer that will add some class to the ugly sweater parties and personalised golf balls from Titleist, which you can customize with a family member’s embarrassing nickname. Happy Holidays!
