Duke University's Blue Devils women's team conclude Fall season ranked No. 3 nationally

DURHAM, North Carolina – With the fall/autumn college golf campaign coming to a close, the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) has released its final fall top 25 with the Duke University program ranked third nationally.
The Blue Devils are coming off closing the fall season with back-to-back victories at the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational and at the Landfall Tradition.
Southern California took the top slot with 20 first place votes followed by Texas, Duke, Florida, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Arizona, Stanford, Arizona State and UCLA in the top 10.
The Blue Devils received one first place vote out of 21 voters.
As a team, Duke collected 12 rounds in the 60s in the fall and 26 rounds of par or better. At the Annika Intercollegiate and the Tar Heel Invitational, the Blue Devils shot 14-under-par, 850. The Blue Devils featured a 73.49 stroke average as a team.
Senior Virginia Elena Carta and rookie Gina Kim closed the fall on a high note tying for individual medalist honors at the Landfall Tradition with an even-par, 216. It marked the first victory for Carta since claiming the NCAA Individual title as a freshman in 2016. The win for Kim was her first as a collegiate golfer.
Duke will return to action Feb. 17-19 at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate in New Orleans, La.
