Joe Bryce wins Edinburgh and East Alliance with a 64 gross at Dalmahoy West

After last week's storm cancellation, the Edinburgh and East Alliance managed to kick start the season at Dalmahoy West with 56 members challenging for The Michael Allan Memorial Trophy.
It was a blustery day but 56 players attended and two managed to break the par of 68 for the West Course.
Top scratch prize was won by 20-year-old Joe Bryce of Bathgate with a gross 64 despite a triple bogey 6 at the par 3 ninth hole after an eagle 2 at the seventh to reach the turn in level par 34. His inward half was made up of four birdies and five pars to come back in 30
 
Top handicap prize winner - the Michael Allan Memorial Trophy - was Craig Surgeon of Newbattle with a net 64 (66 less 2). He headed out in level par 34 followed by a very solid inward nine, thanks to birdie 2s at the 16th and 17th for an inward 30.

Next week the Scottish Alliance Championship takes place from October 2 to 4 at Boat of Garten so the next Edinburgh and East outing is at Glencorse on Wednesday, October 10.
