Frenchman Veyret wins Scottish stroke-play by 6 shots as Walker drops to a third place finish

Frenchman Victor Veyret made all the running through the second, third and fourth rounds to win the Carrick Neill Scottish men's open stroke-play championship by comfortable six-stroke margin over the Kings Course at Gleneagles Hotel, Perthshire.

Veyret, pictured studying the line of a putt, had rounds of 69, 65, 67 and 67 for a 12-under-par aggregate of 268.
Irishman Connor, after an opening 73, made his way up through the field with rounds of 66, 67 and 68 to finish second, six strokes behind the winner.
Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) could not hold Connor at bay with rounds of 67, 69 and a pair of 70s on the final day for a total of 275.
James Wilson (Balmore) had the best last round of 66 (34-32), 12 shots better than his third round earlier on the final day. He finished on 287 in a share of 28th place.
