Scottish men's amateur championship at Blairgowrie

Top seed Callum Bruce KOd by Matthew Clark

Callum Bruce (Duff House Royal), the No 1 seed after leading the 64 match-play qualifiers, was KO'd from the Scottish amateur championship over Blairgowrie's Rosemount course this morning.
He was beaten 4 and 3 by the vastly more experienced Matthew Clark (Kilmacolm).
Clark now plays Andrew Thomson (Lanark) in this afternoon's quarter-finals. Thomson ousted Stuart Easton (Irvine) by 3 and 1 in the morning third-round.
Sandy Scott (Nairn), the No 2 seed, is also out of the championship. He lost by 2 and 1 to Stephen Roger (Peebles), the former Scottish youths champion from Cruden Bay.

Connor McKinney (Australia) bt C D Scott (Nairn) at 19th.
Euan McIntosh (Turnhouse) bt Kyle Godsman (Moray) 2 and 1.
Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) bt Robbie Morrison (Australia) 1 hole.
Stephen Roger (Peebles) bt Sandy Scott (Nairn) 2 and 1.
