Day of shock results at Carnegie Shield

On a day of shocks in the Carnegie Shield at Royal Dornoch ,only two former winners went through to the semi-finals.
OUT went Inverness's  John Forbes on the final green to Aussie-based Scot Robbie Morrison (Royal Perth) and the defending champion Jack Harling (Banchory), beaten on the last green by three time former winner, Californian Andrew Biggadike ,
Chris Mailley, pictured, carries the home flag, winning through at the 19th against Dane Jorg Paulus. In Saturday's semi-finals Mailley meets Biggadike and Morrison plays Rennie.
Round 2 Results
J Forbes (Inverness) bt R Evans (Langland Bay) 3 and 2 
R Morrison (Australia) bt A McNaughton (Caldwell)1 hole.
I Rennie (Hindhead) bt W Short (Peterculter) 2 holes.
G McGimpsey (Royal Portrush) bt F Symon (Tantallon) 3 and 2.
A Biggadike (USA) bt N McQueen ( Stockport) 3 and 2.
J Harling (Banchory) bt M Macleman (Moray) 2 and 1.
J Paulus (Denmark) bt O Dickson (Pennard) 5 and 4.
C Mailley (Royal Dornoch) bt T Wilkenson (USA) I hole.

 QUARTER-FINALS
Morrison bt Forbes 2 holes. 
Rennie bt McGimpsey 3 and 2.
Biggadike bt Harling 1 hole.
Mailley bt Paulus at 19th.
