Kate Lanigan wins Irish girls' championship
Kate Lanigan (Hermitage) etched her name into Irish golfing history as she became the Irish girls’ close champion at Clandeboye Golf Club today.
During her matches she had a run of 49 successive holes without loss.
She beat Valerie Clancy (Killarney) by 6 and 5 in the final.

Semi-finals –V Clancy bt A Donegan 1 hole, K Lanigan bt E Fleming 5 and 4.
Final – Lanigan bt Clancy 6 and 5.
