Michelle Wie Visits With USA Curtis Cup Team
SCARSDALE, New York (June 6, 2018) - Michelle Wie, a member of the victorious 2004 USA Curtis Cup team and 2014 U.S. Women's Open champion, spent time Wednesday with the 2018 USA Curtis Cup Team at Quaker Ridge Golf Club ahead of the 40th Curtis Cup Match, which will take place June 8-10.
Wie, who is fresh off a T10 finish at the 73rd U.S. Women's Open, walked the back nine with the team during their practice round and joined them for an intimate lunch.
"My Curtis Cup experience back in 2004 was so special," said Wie. "This year's team is incredibly talented and I feel honoured that I was able to spend some time with them and get to know each of them better. I can't wait to watch them play this weekend!"
During Wie's time with the team, she gave advice on how to prepare for the Curtis Cup's unique format, which will feature both four-ball and foursomes matches, and
"It was a total surprise to see Michelle walk up to us on the fairway, but it's a moment I'll never forget," said Lauren Stephenson, a member of the USA Team.
