Scottish Young Pros Championship

Banchory assistant Andrew Pillans shares lead at West Lothian

Banchory Golf Club assistant Andrew Pillans produced his best performance on the national stage so far at West Lothian Golf Club today to share the lead with Tom Higson (Gleneagles) and Myles Cunningham (Gullane) on four-under-par 67 in the first round of the 72-hole Scottish young pros' championship.
But for a bogey at the last, Pillans would have led on his own. He had five birdies in halves of 34 and 33.
Cunningham had a total of eight birdies in halves of 37-30 which represented a very good recovery from a double-bogey, bogey start.
Higson had six birdies in halves of 35-32.
