Tiger and Martin Laird must wait to see if they have made the Players' cut on 143

Tiger Woods faces an anxious wait to see if he has made the halfway cut at The Players Championship after firing a one-under 71 in today's second round at TPC Sawgrass.
Woods, who hit only five fairways on day one but scrambled hard to salvage a 72, put together a steady, but unspectacular second round featuring just one bogey and only two birdies as he closed right on the projected cut line of 143.
The forecast is that scores of 143 and better will qualify for the weekend action.
Also on the 143 mark is former Scottish youths champion Martin Laird with rounds of 72 and 71. The Scot looked in trouble when he bogeyed the third, seven and ninth but he birdied the 11th, 12th, 13th and 16th to repair some of the damage. He could have done without a bogey at the 18th, however!
Big names who will definitely not be playing on Saturday and Sunday are Matt Kuchar (74-71 for 145) and Phil Mickelson (79-73 for 152).
Leaders in the clubhouse at 9pm UK time were South Africa's Charl Schwartel (68-66) and American Patrick Cantlay (66-68), both on 134.
Australian Jason Day is on 136 after scores of 69 and 67.
