MICHAEL BRODIE JUST OUTSIDE TOP TEN FINISH IN FLORIDA

 Perthshire's Michael Brodie, a student at Lander University, Greenwood in South Carolina, finished joint 12th in a field 102 competitors at this week's McDonough Cup college golf tournament at Rio Pinar Country Club, Orlando in Florida.
Brodie, pictured, had rounds of 76, 72 and 75 for a total of 223. He had 10 birdies over the 54 holes at a par-72 course of 6,955yd, his best spell being gains at four of the last five holes in the second round.
Brodie finished 12 strokes behind the individual winner, Jake Headrick (Carson-Newman) with scores of 71, 73 and 67 for 211. 
The highest-placed Lander student was Englishman Conor Richards, a second-year man from Hampshire. He finished fifth on 218 with rounds of 73, 74 and 71.
Another Lander student from England, James Bartlett, a final-year man fro Brockenhurst, finished T20 on 225.

Lander University (901) finished seventh of 18 behind the team title winners, Newberry College (880).
