CRAIG LAWRIE, CHRIS MACLEAN

FINISH JT TENTH ON ALGARVE
By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Craig Lawrie and fellow Scot Chris Maclean finished joint 10th and earned 375 euros  (£335.50) each in the second event on the Algarve Pro Tour's Winter Series, Palmares Classic II and Palmares Golf Resort, Lagos on Portugal's southern coastline.
Lawrie, winner of Palmares Classic 1 last week, had a pair of 68s for a total of eight-under-par 136 - six shots behind the Portuguese winner, Pedro Figueiredo who scored 62-68 for 130 and a two-stroke victory.
Lawrie would have finished much closer but for dropping four shots to par over the short seventh, long eighth and ninth in his second round. He bogeyed the seventh, had a double bogey 7 at the eighth and a bogey at the ninth.
On the credit side, Craig had eight birdies in halves of 36-32.
Maclean shot 66-70 for 130. Winner of the Tennant Cup as an amateur earlier this year, there is no indication of the Algarve Pro Tour that Chris was playing as an amateur in this event.
Until there is more information to the contrary, perhaps we should say that Maclean won a voucher worth £335.50.
+If any knows whether Maclean has turned a pro or is still competing as an amateur, please Email the info to Colin@scottishgolfview.com

Only the leading 15 in a field of 74 earn prizemoney. Sean Lawrie, cousin of Craig and also playing out of the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre, finished just outside the money in joint 18th place on 139 (70-69).
