JEFF WRIGHT WINS NORTH SCOTTISH ALLIANCE AT LOSSIE WITH A 67

Jeff Wright (Forres)  won Saturday's opening fixture of the North Scottish Golfers' Alliance season  over Moray Golf Club's New Course at Lossiemouth.

He headed a field of 80 competitors with a three-under-par 67, finishing one stroke ahead of runner-up Kyle Godsman (Moray).

Wright, the current North Scottish Alliance champion, had six birdies (first, eighth, ninth, 14th, 16th and 18th, offset by bogeys at the fifth, 10th and 13th. Godsman had five birdies (sixth, ninth, 16th, 17th and 18th) but also had a double bogey at the fifth and a bogey at the seventh.

D F Sharp (Boat of Garten) narrowly missed out on having four birdie 2s on his card. His putt at the par-3 17th slid wide of the hole.
