FRANSSEN FADES OUT OF TOP 20 

IN TENNESSEE TOURNAMENT

Rory Franssen from Inverness, a student at the University of Missouri, faded with a closing round of four-over-par 76 for a one-under-par total of 215 and a final position of joint 25th in a field of 84 competitors at the Bank of Tennessee men's college golf tournament at the Blackthorn Club @ The Ridges, Jonesborough, Tennessee on Sunday.
Franssen had a solitary birdie, at the par-5 fourth, and five bogeys in halves of 37 and 39 in his final round. He had earlier scored 71 and 68.
Team-mate Jamie Stewart, pictured, a member at Old Ranfurly Golf Club, finished T15 with scores of 72, 71 and 69 for four-iunder 212.
A third Brit in the field, Rhys Nevin-Wharton from Crewe, a student at Tennessee University, shot rounds of 70, 74 and 70 for 214 and a T20 finish.
Hayden Buckley (Missouri) was the individual winner by three strokes with scores of 68, 64 and 67 for 17-under 199.
Missouri (846) finished fourth of 15 behind team title winners Penn State (833). Tennessee (853) finished sixth.
