Stuart Easton named Golfer of the Week for Conference-USA
News this morning of victories in the USA for two British students - Scotland's Connie Jaffrey and England's Elizabeth Prior - but let's start with the men's highlight.
Stuart Easton from Irvine, Ayrshire, a third-year student at Western Kentucky University, has been named Men's Golfer of the Week for Conference-USA after achieving top-five finishes in three consecutive events.
In his latest outing, Stuart finished T5 in the Pinetree Intercollegiate tournament over 36 holes at Pinetree Country Club, Kennesaw, Georgia.
Over a par-72 course of 7,108yd, Easton returned a pair of 72s for 144 - seven behind the winner by a four-shot margin, Peyton Wilhoit (Southern Illinois) (66-71 for 137).
In his second round, the Scot birdied the second, ninth, 17th and 18th holes, offsert by bogeys at the third, fourth, 12th and 14th.
Western Kentucky (587) finished fourth behind Southern Illinois (583) and joint runners-up Wisconsin and Kennesaw State (both 584) in a field of 11 teams.
