Connor Syme making pro debut in Portugal Masters

SCOTTISH GOLF NEWS RELEASE
Connor Syme, the No 8 ranked amateur in the world and 2017 Scottish Amateur Golfer of the Year, has turned professional and is making his debut in the professional ranks in this week’s European Tour event in Portugal.

The Drumoig player has decided to entrust Modest Golf to manage all of his professional affairs as he begins his journey through the professional ranks
Syme has enjoyed a successful amateur career, both as an individual and representing Scotland. The two-time European Amateur team winner reached the semi-finals of The Amateur Championship in 2014, won the Australian Amateur Championship in 2016, reached the quarter-finals of the US Amateur last month and rounded off a great amateur record by being selected for The Walker Cup.
The 22-year-old, coached by his father Stuart, said: “I can’t wait to begin my career as a professional golfer, I have taken my time on choosing when to turn professional and now definitely feels like the right time to make the move into the professional ranks.”
