M and H StreetGolf
Fun Day at Hamilton Accies on September 3
M and H Logistics, a Glasgow-based logistics
company with seven other depots across Scotland and the North West of England,
continue to celebrate their 30-year business anniversary. This time with a
local community at Hamilton Accies.
Proud PGA Partner, M and H have come together
with the Professional Golfers Association, Scottish Golf, Golf Foundation and
Hamilton Academical FC to organise this fantastic event.
Thirty children age
8-14 will be given an opportunity to try golf in a very unusual way. SuperSeal
Stadium will be transformed into a street golf trail of ten various challenges,
from pitching a golf ball into the back of a M&H truck through to sandpit
target.
The group of 30 children will include
Hamilton Academical youth academy members and children from Blameless charity
which has been formed to help the children and families of those suffering with
addiction. Colin McGowan, one of Trustees said
“We aim to provide fun times and
ultimately happy memories for children who have been directly or indirectly
affected by addiction or alcoholism and the M and H StreetGolf Fun Day at Accies
will certainly deliver great memories and perhaps a golf ambition.”
M and H Logistics Marketing and Development
Director, Anna Kozlowska said “M and H have joined the PGA as a Partner last
year and whilst we are getting ready for the M and H Logistics Scottish PGA
Championship qualifiers at Crieff and then championship itself at Gleneagles, I
am delighted we have all come together to connect with the local community to
make this event happen.
"Our business supports over a dozen charities every year
through various events and donations, so we are very proud we can include this
one on our annual schedule.”
The Managing Director, Tom Wotherspoon is also a
Trustee at Blameless, a charity which he says is very close to his heart.
Shona Malcolm, Secretary of the PGA in Scotland
said
“We are delighted to add value to our partnership with M and H Logistics
by supporting the company’s community activities through a fun golf experience
for young people that might not otherwise have the chance to try the
game.
"By introducing M and H Logistics to The Golf Foundation and to
Scottish Golf, the governing body for amateur golf in Scotland, we have been
able to facilitate an innovative cross-sector, cross-organisation and now
cross-sport working arrangement in Scotland which clearly demonstrates the
value of collaboration in meeting the objectives all parties.
"September 3rd will
be a great experience for the young people and the organisers alike, and
hopefully the first of many.”
Blane Dodds, CEO of
Scottish Golf, said: “We are delighted to be collaborating with M and H
Logistics, the Professional Golfers’ Association, the Golf Foundation and
Hamilton Academical FC to deliver this exciting opportunity for young people.
This is a great example of partners working together on a community initiative
that offers a different approach to trying golf in a relaxed and fun
environment, with the potential to encourage new players into the game. We look
forward to contributing to the success of this event and hope the young
participants thoroughly enjoy their day.”
Brendon Pyle, CEO of the Golf Foundation commented
“We are very proud all parties have worked together to create this great event
for the local community. We hope it will inspire the children and are confident
it will be a fun day to remember by all.”
M and H StreetGolf Fun Day
at Accies is the first event of its kind in Scotland and M and H Logistics plan
to use it a model across various other locations so watch this space.
