European Tour School Final Qualifying in Spain
Henry, Neil and Law make good start
By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Scott Henry (64), Blairgowrie's Bradley Neil (64) and Aberdonian David Law (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) (66) have made a good start to the six-round European Tour School Final Stage at PGA Catalunya, near Girona in North-east Spain.
Henry and Neil are joint third and Law T15 at the end of the first day.
These three played their first rounds over the par-70 Tour Course where 63s by Richard McEvoy (England) and Sweden's Michael Jonzon set the pace.
Craig Lee did not have such good fortune at the Tour Course. He signed for a two-over-par 72 and is T119.
The other four Scots at the Tour School all started at the more difficult Stadium Course which has a par of 72 and where Christian Braeunig (Germany) is the lead with a 66.
At this venue, Ross Kellett (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) had a par 72 to be T75; Grant Forrest (Craigielaw) a two-over 74 to be T119 and Peter Whiteford a four-over 76 to be T140.
The players will exchange courses tomorrow (Sunday) and will have played each course twice by the time there is a cut after 72 holes to the leading 70 players and ties.
